  • This project is a newly finished house, with the originally crowded layout was unideal for the client’s family, thus, removed all partitions but kept the locations of kitchen and bathrooms, enlarged the public space and master bedroom, as well as upgraded the supplementary function units of two bedrooms. The mix-and-match styling comprised the female client's favorite slight American classical and modern minimalist style preferred by the male owner, a contrasting and pleasant aesthetics. The designer used lots of line work as the visual groundwork to accentuate the sense of modern design highlighted by its essential elements without the usual classical textural decoration and visual complexity, such as colored strip on the edge of marble pavement, white vertical lining board on the right-hand side of TV wall, the contrast by accentuated line work between the ceiling and cabinet volumes. Thus, classical vocabulary is used to interpret the pristine quality of modern design.
