Open Chair

Fujimura Design Studio

Short description

After bending a sheet of plywood into a U-shape,
the basic structure of the chair is created by making an opening.
Inexpensive materials and a simple and easy process keep costs down while creating a modern shape with few parts.

Cut out in perfect balance, the chair has a thin, light, and strong structure.
And the large round hole in the back is the icon of this chair and adds accents to the interior space.
The subtle sensation of having three legs, but not feeling like three legs brings newness and interest to this chair.
