“We don’t ask to be eternal beings. We only ask that things do not lose all their meaning”. This highly inspirational quote from Saint Exupéry helped us synthesize the ambitious goal of this project: the quest for the meaning of life, bridging heaven and earth. Standing at 7 meters tall, the construction, commissioned for a young doctor and his family, evolves vertically and dematerializes the roof in an attempt to reach up to the sky and bring it closer. The skylight vests the light coming in with an almost celestial dimension. Use of natural stone and copper lends nobility to the building. These materials, with their changing colour nuances over time, are perpetual witnesses of time and matter as they transform. Rigor in design and geometry contributed to fine detail in execution, persistently searching for continuity.
