Hyatt Centric Lakeside Ningbo
Celia Chu Design & Associates
Short description
Hyatt Centric Lakeside Ningbo is the first Hyatt Centric hotel in mainland China. Located beside Tongxin Lake in Zhenhai’s vibrant International Talent Park, the hotel provides the perfect starting point for adventurous travelers to explore the history and culture of Ningbo and experience an authentic slice of life in this charming port city.
Designed by Taiwan-based prestigious firm Celia Chu Design & Associates, the hotel’s modern architecture and interior design embraces the scenic surroundings, Ningbo’s traditional craftsmanship and mahjong culture. Wooden shutters reflect the warm and comfortable ambience of a clubhouse, while the interiors are animated by reflections of the lake, with wall art created by local illustrators. A shifting colour palette of the four seasons in the hotel’s signature restaurant is inspired by Ningbo’s connection to the origins of mahjong.
The lobby creates a warm and cozy atmosphere of a country cabin using wooden blinds. The floor is designed with different shades inspired by the colors of a lake, enhancing the lively and lakeside cabin impression. Moving further inside, you will find the Play Room, a part of the Club House. Here, guests can enjoy dining, drinks, music, and reading. The color scheme is derived from the four seasons in the game of Mahjong, paying homage to Ningbo's invention. These seasonal colors add vibrancy and create a unique ambiance, complementing the Mahjong-themed wall designs.
The 174 guestrooms including eight spacious suites are designed to combine upscale comfort with contemporary style. The guestrooms are built through creative and compact design with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic lake or city views. The spaces are thoughtfully furnished for guests to enjoy a relaxing taste of life by the lake.
The project also showcases local craftsmanship and art, such as an exhibition of Ningbo's traditional nail bowl craftsmanship, inviting guests to discover the region's cultural heritage.
