The Chapel of Sound is a monolithic open-air concert hall with views to the ruins of the Ming Dynasty-era Great Wall. The video was directed with the consideration of combining the natural sound and handpan music with the design, in order to emphsis the sense of presence. We were attempted to use the improvisational performance and live recoring at the hall as the background music of the video, however, due to uncontrollable constructions on-going near the space, we ended up with studio recording. However, I believe the immediacy of the moment and atmosphere have been sucessfully delivered.
